I heard this story of a class of children having an assignment to write “so called” Lie Poem about how great they were. They were supposed to make up “untruths” about themselves that were supposed to make them sound unbelievably wonderful. By “lying’ to themselves these children were creating a vision of who they wanted to be.

.Vision Creation Exercise
I think that this will be a great activity for us to do. I am going to post my own Lie Poem below.
More Than Plain Gerlaine
Let’s start inside my soul.
I want be more than bold.
I’m a giving, giving giver.
Philanthropist, they call me.
Heart of gold.
I’m on fire!
Fired up!
Take me higher!
I live on top!
I am mighty!
Watch out Oprah Winfrey!
My life is Hah…
…and it’s not blah!
I am Queen!
I am pristine.
My home is like the Sistine Chapel!
I am all of this…
and more…
and more and
MORE!
I wear skinny jeans.
My hair is always neat.
I am the epitome of fasion.
I have not one but
two.
Well, two of what?
That all depends…
But I’ve got it.
I’ve got two maids to do my bidding.
I have a driver to leave me sitting.
I have chef to cook our food.
Even though sometimes, I burn good too.
I have nanny, but she’s not full time.
She lives in the servant quarters on the west wing of my Sistine Chapel.
Ahhhhh!
Enough about me.
Let me hear about you.
Okay, now it’s your turn… write a great and better lie poem than mine!
Write your poem in the comments and Subcribe to the RSS!
